What a beautiful sunrise greeted us this Wednesday morning! The day that followed it didn't disappoint. A gentle breeze and mild temps made for excellent sleeping last night to the sound of our gentle surf in Zihuatanejo's bay, and a thoroughly enjoyable day for those of us who live here.

However, there still don't seem to be many people around. Sales were slow for most people, and none of the restaurants along the waterfront were full either during the day or this evening, though there were several extranjeros enjoying each other's company at the bar in Daniel's Restaurant. The Cancha Municipal was empty and its lights were off. Odd for such a lovely evening. Almost no one was out strolling or enjoying the scene of the almost-full moon rising in the east from the pier. Oh well. Lupita and I enjoyed it for you.

Although a mar de fondo event is predicted for our coast this Friday, it doesn't look like it's going to affect us much according to the surf forecasts. The ocean remains quite calm, and the water visibility is quite good for snorkeling and diving. If you use a sunscreen at the beach, be sure it's a reef-safe one that doesn't harm the coral. Our local coral is already struggling to recover from a bleaching event.

Deborah's Restaurant is accepting reservations for their annual Thanksgiving Dinner. Her dinners include all the trimmings, and her desserts are divine! Reservations are required. MX$770 per person (and worth every centavo).
