Conmemorando la RevoluZIHón
Tuesday night's rain didn't last long, but it sure washed the dust away and made for good sleeping weather. The sun was out all day this Wednesday for the parade commemorating the 114th Aniversario de la Revolución Mexicana.
The parade lasted from 8 A.M. until about 12:30 P.M. It just keeps getting longer and longer as we keep reproducing and more and more schoolchildren are included. While parts of the parade were really fun to watch, it gets a bit tedious with school after school after school of kids followed by their parents, so many that there are often more parents and family members following than there are kids marching.
Folks wanting to celebrate Thanksgiving this coming November 28th can enjoy a bellyful at Deborah's Restaurant where they are accepting reservations. Her traditional Thanksgiving dinners come with ALL the trimmings. And don't forget to save room for her homemade dessert!
Our tourist season seems to be getting off to a slow start. Lots more Canadians than Gringos are in town. I've heard of several cancellations by folks from the States, and requests from others for info about moving here. There's a terrible sense of foreboding among the more sensible citizens, and Mexicans sense it, too. I believe the recent election results will affect our tourist season, but that displaced Acapulco visitors along with others who are returning after "discovering" us last year will continue making up the difference to some extent.
Once the parade ended this morning, busloads of visitors began returning to the inland cities they came from, and life quickly returned to normal for us. This Thursday is a school day. Hopefully the teachers will show up for work.

Wow man, you think like me. Too much reproducing in this world.
But….the elections didn’t deter us. If anything, we gringos need to escape from the MAGAots.

It’s always good to stay tuned in and informed, but, hey, don’t worry too much about Trump or the over population, both of which have the capacity to destroy this beautiful world in which we live. You CAN’T fool Mother Nature!!!
MAGA Extreme Breeding
He has already fathered many children. Now Musk wants all of the US to embrace extreme breeding
Trump’s billionaire best friend wants young people to ‘fear’ childlessness. Teaching people that while a woman dies every two minutes due to pregnancy or childbirth – and maternal mortality rates are increasing in the US – it’s childlessness you should be afraid of? It’s easy for Musk, who will never have to carry any of the children he’s so keen on having, to be blase about pregnancy risks: he can outsource them all.
Musk is desperate for people in developed countries to have more children and has himself fathered at least 12 children with three women. (One of the children has since sadly died.) He’s become one of the most famous faces of a growing pro-natalist movement – one with an unsettling overlap with eugenics and deeply misogynistic ideas. Musk is obviously entitled to his obsessions. The problem is, now that he’s Donald Trump’s BFF, he actually has the opportunity to embed his obsessions into policy.
I guess the MAGA mantra “Drill, Baby, Drill” has more than one meaning.

We watched the parade from afar today, in Connecticut. If anyone is interested, or wants to pass the url along, it's at https://youtu.be/pKNrQ_Rf5NQ. It's the whole
4-1/4 hours of it from the first proud marching girls to the last equally proud dancing horses.
Sorry we missed seeing it in person, but renovations here have sucked up more time than we could spare.
