We awoke to another nipper morning in Zihuatanejo. I could almost see my breath. It must've been near 20°C at daybreak. I almost put on a long-sleeve t-shirt. ;-)

Crowds of national tourists showed up this Saturday by the busload. Many still wearing their cold weather clothes from when they boarded their bus in some inland city where the temps have been near freezing from the cold fronts. Some parked themselves at the downtown beach while most went to Las Gatas. One of my charter captain friends had an ear-to-ear grin plastered on his face after returning from his charter of all women celebrating a birthday. Even though he's moreno you could still see where the sun had left lighter marks in the creases of his cheeks from smiling all day on the water. ;-)

Lots of Mexicans are happy the national fútbol season is back underway. It's amazing that Gringos call what they play "football" since they don't use a ball (balls are ROUND) and it almost never touches anyone's foot. Lupita keeps calling it "lucha libre", though it looks more like an adaptation of rugby. But it has too many rules and definitely too many time outs and breaks that stop the clock. Amazing that a one-hour game can easily take over 3 hours so they can make you watch a gazillion ads on TV.

"Las Iguanas Bazar" located at the southern end of La Huerta in La Ropa next to Casa Tucanes continues this Sunday from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. with local artisans and merchants selling delicious foodstuffs, sustainable products and beautiful crafts.

[image]If you enjoy spectacular views and balmy breezes, you'll LOVE La Casa Roja on Cerro El Almacén with two comfortable suites. The upstairs has 2 bedrooms with a king-size and twin beds, full kitchen, private bath, and 2 terraces. The lower level also has 2 bedrooms with a king-size and twin beds, full kitchen, 2 baths, and a terrace. A peaceful place within easy walking distance of downtown and nearby restaurants.

Actually, Rob, the players in an American football game only play between 12 and 16 minutes. Yes, there are 60 minutes on the clock but most of that time is spent in the huddle. It is an advertiser's dream come true. 60 million people who need exercise watching 22 people who don't and doing so for over 3 hours with 2 hours and 45 minutes of commercials. Pure marketing genius.

What is even more brilliant about football is the amount of time you have to drink beer. And Baseball, 18 breaks in the game to get more beer. Do not forget about Hockey, Pure GENIOUS. Who ever came up with 2ea 1/3 Times should get a Nobel Peace Prize. Everyone gets up to get a beer and mean EVERYONE. And then there is futbol. Where everyone arrives plastered, fights for 2 hours and returns to the pub so as to get plastered again. Sports make me thirsty.
