It wasn't quite so cool this morning as it was Wednesday morning, though it was very nice out. Not a cloud in the sky, hardly any waves. Such serene and tranquil mornings we're having. And once again, people were swimming before sunrise. Amazing how many people aren't aware that early morning and last light are feeding times for sharks, crocs, and really anything with big teeth. Oh well. ;-)

Good news: Mexicana airlines is once again flying into our airport! Yippee ki yay! Now if we could only announce ourselves where they fly from instead of wasting a fortune for our mayor and her entourage to enjoy a vacation in Spain pretending to attract European tourists who mostly never come in spite of all the gleeful announcements our politicians make trying to rationalize their all-expenses-paid vacations.

Sales are picking up for local shop owners and merchants. The Canadians are stepping up. At least that's what some merchants say.

Unfortunately, the Danzón dancers won't be able to dance in Plaza del Artista this Friday evening because the city planned a "Fandango" there. A folkloric cultural event that would be quite nice if they didn't use so many speakers blasting so loud they hurt your ears and ruin the event. It could've been held anywhere else along the waterfront, but the city authorities appear woefully ignorant of how locals actually use the waterfront and its plazas.

Hopefully we'll see an uptick in visitors from up north here after this week's little snowfall as far south as New Orleans and Pensacola. Another round of snow is predicted to sweep across the country this coming weekend. But still no snow in our local forecast. Just warm sunshine and clear blue skies. Lucky us, right? B-)
