Does anyone know if protestors are still blocking access to the finance office? I have read that this year will require new plates. This is our first time replacing plates. Do we need to bring our old plates to the finance office when paying for the vehicle taxes?

Our friend is always the first to pay everything. He finally got in on Monday. Here is what he said.

Hola, Some changes this year. You need take all of your documents, including a copy of your CURP, have them verify that you have all of the correct documents. You then need to get a Formulario, it is a 2 page document available at the counter immediately to the left of the entrance where they make copies. You need to pay for this form. I paid 10 pesos for 2 copies ( extra in case I make a mistake). Fill out form using all capital letters. Then take all the forms back there. They collect them and give you a date to return to pay. I am going back tomorrow and see what happens. I will update you if anything is different that what I just explained. Plates won't be available until some time in March. F...ing pain in the ass!

He later found a link to the forms, but I don't know how to share them as they were sent to me as attachments.

I heard it was open and very busy. When I drove past today everything was very quiet. I’m glad I didn’t try to do it today. Maybe I’ll try on Monday.

One of the new requirements this year is a "REPUVE". You locate your vehicle and print the required document here: https://www2.repuve.gob.mx:8443/ciudadania/

I have been to the Fianza office twice since Monday. They told me to come back on Friday as they needed to get the person in charge to sign my Repuve. When I went in on Friday, after waiting a long time, they asked me to go back to my car and get a photo of the Hologram on my windshield, which I had to get in line to get printed once back at the Fianza office. More waiting and then after another half an hour they asked me to go back to my car again and get a photo of my SIN #. Heads up, take in these photos with you the first time. They also required a 200% copy of my permanent residence card, which they can do at the office, so be sure to have your card with you.
You do not have to take in your old plates.

I can never get the site to take me to where you input a vehicle's VIN?

3) Factura - Original and copy
4) Photo of the serial number on the vehicle
5) REPUVE (https://www2.repuve.gob.mx:8443/ciudadania/)
6) copy of ID enlarged to 200%

I tried accessing serval times yesterday with no luck. The website must have had a lot of traffic, it was taking forever to load. Today it opened (using Chrome) right away. Here is another link that explains the process. Hope this helps. https://repuveconsulta.mx/#consulta-repuve

Payment?

Friend completed his paperwork and paid, plates in March.

This year only credit and debit cards from a Mexican Bank. So, for cash, do they give you a paper to take to a bank to pay cash with?
