screw worm situation?

No official changes. No SENASICA licensed vet in Zihuatanejo area . Closest vets licensed are in Acapulco , Uruapan and Patzcuaro . Alaska airlines is now checking paperwork at Zihuatanejo airport and denying flight if you don’t have SENASICA stamp . This changed last week .

I just checked the APHIS website again. The language has been updated a bit. Now it's says "the required screwworm freedom certification may be issued by a clinical veterinarian trained and authorized to sign on behalf of the official government veterinarian." It's still a challenge but if a local vet has authorization it can be done. Recommend contacting Dr Jorge Islas in Ixtapa. He is checking on becoming authorized.
