Just read DST was cancelled in Mexico in Oct/22.(?) It's 9 March/25 in most of the rest of North America.

The closer you are to the equator, the less change there is in the amount of daylight over the different seasons. Year round warm weather also makes DST (or changing the time for winter vs summer) less compelling.
