ApreZIHando la Bandera Mexicana
¡Feliz Día de la Bandera Mexicana!
A beautiful morning, very calm in the bay of Zihuatanejo. Birds were diving for bait fish under a mostly cloudless sky while very few fishermen sold their wares on the beach. Like the Mexican saying: "los lunes ni las gallinas ponen".
The downtown beach wasn't very busy today, though a good amount of visiting extranjeros could be seen this morning walking the waterfront and the downtown streets, some getting exercise, others getting coffee and breakfast. Everyone looking nice and relaxed, the Zihuatanejo effect. The evening was similar. Most people out and about were speaking either English or French.
Don't miss the annual fair in Barra de Potosí this Tuesday starting at 9:00 A.M. There will be lots of arts, crafts, good food, good drink, good music, all in a wonderful place.
Local artisans are still selling their wares in front of Plaza del Artista under the amate tree by the beach. Part of the celebration of maternal languages. I believe Wednesday will be their final day. There are some beautiful handmade crafts for sale. Come and find that perfect gift for yourself or someone you love.
If you're looking for a truly relaxing B&B lodging overlooking the jungle in La Ropa, I highly recommend Casa Arcoíris. The view of the sunset over the treetops from their pool is breathtaking, and the peace and quiet will relieve you of any stress. Five comfortable suites with air conditioning, TV, and Wi-Fi access at this LGBTQ-friendly lodging make it somewhat exclusive and definitely enchanting. Mention ZihuaRob's and get a discount.
