MX DRIVER LICENSE RENEWAL

Licenses expired last June and we’ve been putting off the reported hassle of driving to Petetlan or La Union for a renewal. Finally decided today is the day to do it. At the last minute we said let’s go in Zihua City Hall and see what happens. Hauled our Dept of Salud certificate and copies of everything else we could imagine, took a number, waited for our call, dumped all our paper on the lady behind the counter - she chose what she needed, took our finger prints, signatures and photo. Paid our 738 pesos each and WALKED OUT WITH OUR NEW LICENSES!!!

And they never even asked if you knew how to drive! Amazing, isn't it?

Has anyone gone to get the new license plates yet?

Thanks for the info. I have gathered most of the documents that are required but I think I will wait a couple of months as well. I have had a car here since 2009 and have never needed all of this to get my plates! I will do whatever is necessary to be legal.

We plan on waiting a few months too. What's the rush??
