We had some cloud cover this morning, but the birds were still singing, the waves were still churning, the breeze was still blowing, and the coffee still smelled delicious. And I still woke up beside the love of my life. Which is why every day I feel like the luckiest Gringo in Mexico!

Even with the sun diluted by high clouds for much of the morning, it turned into a beautiful day. Perhaps a tad warmer than yesterday, but it never felt uncomfortable, at least not to us.

There wasn't much tourism this Saturday, though the visitors that I saw certainly appeared happy to be here. I love watching families with kids arriving and the excitement of the kids as they spot the beach and the ocean for the first time. A magical moment for them. Many seem to react with the same awe and fascination. Older kids all seem to react the same way: they whip out their cellphones and start filming or taking pictures, posing for their selfies, and then walking around talking and filming themselves. Seems we could have a little fun with them with some virtual reality apps, putting messages, music, tropical animals and other objects here and there along the waterfront walkway for them to discover while staring at their phones, for nerds so inclined. ;-)

Well, it's official here in Mexico. "Café Americano" is now called "Café Mexicano" in order to better promote Mexican-grown coffee, according to Mexico's Secretaría de Turismo Federal. Shouldn't've messed with the Gulf of Mexico. I just hope Mexico's favorite fútbol club doesn't change its name. :-o

Don't forget to visit "Las Iguanas Bazar" in La Ropa next to Casa Tucanes this Sunday from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. where you'll find the wonderful works of local artisans and merchants and lots of sustainable products. :dude:
