The humidity remains on the high side for this time of year, making it seem even warmer during the daytime, but our mornings remain refreshing at around 21°C. Except for the lack of rain, our local weather has been absolutely picture-postcard-perfect day after day for weeks and weeks now. By 8 o'clock the sun feels hot even though it's barely above the hills surrounding Zihuatanejo's bay, and folks from cooler climes are arriving to warm their bones on our beaches. It's a daily ritual we enjoy watching, especially when kids from inland towns and cities are discovering the beach for the first time.
We had strawberry licuados again this morning. Absolutely delicious! Our daughter prepares our fruit licuados most mornings, sometimes mamay, sometimes plátano, sometimes papaya, sometimes mixed with chocolate, sometimes with coconut milk. What a delightful treat in the morning! Just some of the magic of the Costa Grande and Mexico.
There was Danzón dancing and music in Plaza del Artista this Wednesday evening. Wonderful music and beautiful dancing! There was also another special "fandango cultural" of dancers and musicians that danced along all the Paseo del Pescador from the pier to the museum. So good to see so much local culture on display, and plenty of locals and visitors were certainly enjoying it.
The water temperature continues to waver between around 26.5 to 27°C, cool for us but not cold. Feels good on a sunny day, especially if you've been playing Frisbee on the beach.
The waves have been a bit high, between a meter and a meter and a half along most of the coast. Fun for bodysurfing in the good spots, and it sounds absolutely magical at night for sleeping.
A friendly reminder that the local lodgings, services and businesses I recommend here in my website are owned by good people, not by corrupt politicians or people of dubious character. This is something that's always been very important for me.
A local boutique hotel that certainly is romantic is Tentaciones Hotel & Restaurante. An inviting place that will leave you wanting more of what they have to offer: a luxury bed and breakfast boutique hotel in a private villa overlooking La Ropa Beach with only 4 suites, a restaurant and a unique pool bar lounge offering a panoramic view of Zihuatanejo Bay and its beaches. They also have a two gourmet open-air restaurants that will transport you to a magical place full of temptations.

The water still feels warm to me - not summer warm, but warm on the surface. If you drop your feet down (in water over your head), you'll feel the cold water. Also, I swim in the late afternoon, so maybe the water is heated by the sun? so doesn't feel so cold? FABULOUS either way!

I swam this morning and it seemed warmer than Tuesday. Very nice for a good swim!
