Though the weather folks show the same temperatures for both mornings, Wednesday morning wasn't near as cool as Tuesday. It only got down to about 20°C this morning. Perfect. Felt great!

The ocean remained a bit calmer today, though the surf is expected to pick up a bit for Thursday. The water temp is cooling in Zihuatanejo's bay, fluctuating between 27° and 26°C. Cooler at depths.

Fishermen continue bringing in tuna. But because they arrive so late, I'm guessing they're going out well past the second line to catch them. Your favorite local restaurant just might have them on the menu this Thursday in case you don't feel like having pozole.

A licuado de mango for breakfast was a wonderful start to a beautiful day in our paradise. It went perfectly with the delicious fresh pan dulce from one of our local bakeries. My wife spoils me so rotten each day that I keep having this fantasy about being the luckiest Gringo in Mexico. B-)

[image]Paradise may have once been lost, but when you arrive at this lodging you'll know you've truly found it. Casa Escondida offers a 2-bedroom home, a 2-bedroom apartment, and two 1-bedroom bungalows all designed in local tropical styles. This incredible property is located on Troncones Beach a short walk from the village. Features a pool, ceiling fans and hammocks on the porches. Rent the entire property or in parts.

The shipping lanes that cargo ships use we know as líneas off our coast. La primera línea is about 25 to 30 miles out. La segunda línea is about 50 to 60 miles out. Most local fishermen still use visual guides to keep track of where they are along the coast, the mountains we call Los Tetes being one of the key ones for us so that they can find their way back home.

C'mon, Rob, they must have GPS as well as a compass backup, right?

Some of them might take marine radios with them. I used to. And a compass. I always had one of those, too. Many now have chips installed on the vessels so that they can be found if they get lost, break down or otherwise become incapacitated, but such gadgets as a handheld GPS are expensive and too much technology for most fishermen who can barely deal with their cellphones.
