ViZIHta de Cetaceos
Friday morning was another cool but quite comfortable morning. We slept quite pleasantly to the sound of the waves in the bay. There weren't many people out this morning besides locals, hardly any visitors.
The book fair has taken over the Cancha Municipal and parts of the Paseo including in front of Plaza del Artista. Lots of interesting books are for sale. I wasn't looking for titles in English, and I don't recall seeing any.
There was a mother whale and her calf in front of La Ropa Beach early this evening around 6:00 P.M. Not sure how many people along the beach saw them. A few boats hovered nearby, hopefully respecting their distance, but I suspect momma whale decided there was too much action in the bay and took her baby quickly back out to sea instead of hanging around.
There were quite a few extranjeros out along the Paseo del Pescador this evening. Good to still see so many visitors from up north are still around. Daniel's Restaurant was mostly full and folks were enjoying the music. We saw nothing but happy and smiling faces, so I guess they were having a good time.
The Danzón dancers will be at the Cancha Municipal this Saturday evening at 6:00 P.M. Come enjoy the music of an old Zihuatanejo tradition and learn a new style of dancing if you haven't already. It's sure to be a lovely event that captures some of the magic of Zihuatanejo.
And the Eco-Tianguis Sanca will be in the small plaza across from the museum this Saturday from 8:30 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. Come enjoy arts, crafts, good food and drinks, music, educational talks, and lots of good vibes and wonderful people.
If you're looking to pamper yourself, Casa Mi Corazón is a luxurious 3-bedroom 3-story vacation rental home located atop the small hill at La Madera just steps from the beach with a panoramic view of Zihuatanejo Bay and the downtown area. Within easy walking distance to downtown restaurants and shopping. Amenities include a rooftop palapa living and dining area with a pool, air-conditioned bedrooms, and wireless internet.
