Bus Parking by Plaza Kyoto CLOSED!!!

Drove by it this morning and saw that both the pedestrian and bus entrances had been trenched so were totally impassible.

Just read on Facebook that this parking lot is closed, not word as to temporary or permanent, and directions to the parking area in las Salinas were given.

It will not be open at all, including the pick up and drop off of passengers.

This will be a great boon for this entire end of town during popular times when the movement of vehicles in the area of the parking lot stops.

Las Salinas area where the buses will park was actually declared too unhealthy for public use a few years back under a previous administration because of the fecal matter in the dust there. It has not been cleaned up even though the municipal government has been using it again for events. How convenient of our municipal government to overlook FACTS like that. So now people in buses have to walk the entire length of Cinco de Mayo with very little shade and a lot of traffic just to get to the downtown area where they'll either look for their lodging or take all their belongings with them to Las Gatas for the day. This will KILL the business for the hotels and vendors along La Boquita who came to depend on the bus visitors. It's simply too far a walk now, especially dragging luggage and coolers.

I´m with you Rob . I live out in La Ropa so ya , the traffic can be stopped at times but danm , this IS the perfect place to drop and pick up visitors coming by bus to visit Zihuatanejo.

Might they use the bus parking area by the estación de bomberos?

And on short notice right before one of the busiest weeks of the year for us. Hotels, posadas and other tourist businesses grew up nearby and along the walking route of these tourists. Their businesses will be devastated by this. A stupid decision for the local government to make at this time. If it was because the property has been sold, then the local government should've made an agreement with the property owners, but our local government is all hat and no cattle, just for show. They're in it to make money for themselves.

Kind of like when they quit allowing buses to drive out to la Ropa. The parking area out here was fenced, buses no longer allowed to go past the bombero parking lot. Never read that it was going to happen, it just did. Certainly changed things out here.

That specific spot by Kyoto has brought many wonderful and horrible experiences.

From how in the hell did they manage that 3 point maneuver, to why in the hell did they think that 3 point maneuver was possible.

The faces of those arriving with their blankets is always a trip to see as is the Sunday crudo (hungover) looking folks carrying cases of hot beer.

And all the smallish eating places in the area will most likely disappear. The busses arrive, they might be hungry. The busses depart, they probably want to eat a bite or get something to take with. It really is incredibly stupid, what they've done.

So now the busses will come as usual, only to discover this new thing and then the giant problem of having to try and turn around somehow. I JUST CAN'T IMAGINE IT!

After 25 years of RVing all over Mexico, we quickly learned that buses go everywhere in this country. So, based on that, we thoroughly explored this country.

Did we ever ask what the F we were doing in this particular spot? Oh yeah.

Trying to climb a hill (with a bad engine we didn't realize we had) to an RV park in Guanajuato, and having to back down a mountain with people v=blocking traffic for us.

An amazing country! It's an adventure!

We suspect, that just like when they cut off access to la Ropa, they will have the policia vial out there rerouting them.

Perhaps, it is the beginning of their mass transit plan. Think about the difference the road by Jungle pizza made to easy access in and out to the far end of La Ropa. Also, the infrastructure in place I expect wasn't planned for the larger buses.
