Waking up in this incredible place with my amazing wife is one of my daily pleasures that makes me feel like I must be the luckiest Gringo in Mexico. I can't imagine a better way to start the day. After I take our dog for a stroll she always insists on bringing me my coffee, fresh and locally grown. And later either fresh juice or a licuado made with fresh fruit and either fresh pan dulce or a wonderful cooked breakfast that our daughter helps prepare. This morning our daughter made some incredible huevos rancheros with a delicious homemade salsa. This is just one of the reasons I walk around smiling for no apparent reason. Part of my superpower. B-)

Thank goodness the Paseo del Pescador wasn't closed off to the public this Saturday morning like yesterday, because it was a busy morning full of visitors who had arrived by bus and were carrying all their belongings, relaxing all up and down the Paseo, enjoying the breakfast that they'd brought with them, waiting for the water taxis to start running to Playa Las Gatas. A typical busy weekend morning.

The mar de fondo effect continues generating waves of 2 to 2.6 meters along our coast. Fishing remains good. My captain friends who go out at night are catching some nice huachinango, and the ones who go out in the daytime past the segunda línea are bringing back some beautiful atún de aleta amarilla. So take advantage of our delicious local fresh fish. I've never understood why folks come here and order seafood that isn't from here, including all those shrimp dishes. I stick with our wonderful local foods.

This Sunday evening at 7PM the Danzón dancers will perform at the Cancha Municipal. I hope you'll come enjoy their music with us and show them your support. They are such a beautiful part of our local culture, and they deserve our collective support. Most of our tourists will have left by late Sunday afternoon so it shouldn't be very crowded anywhere. You can come out now. ;-)

[image]Playa Blanca is a place that still enjoys much peace and tranquility, a place where the stars still appear clearly in the evening skies and where whales and dolphins can be seen spouting and breaching from the shore. El Manantial is an affordable vacation lodging located right on the beach at Playa Blanca offering two one-bedroom bungalows and two houses, one with three bedrooms and the other with six, each with A/C and wi-fi internet, and access to a common pool and a beachfront lounge area.

For many years, Las Gatas was our daily destination to hang out. Reading your posts about the large crowds heading there now, makes it a little less depressing that we can't visit Zihua any more.

The crowds have disappeared! I thought more people would still be here this Sunday morning, but Zihuatanejo is practically a ghost town at the moment. There were long lines on the carretera yesterday afternoon as almost everyone headed home. Today looks like a good day to visit Las Gatas.
