¡Un Destino DeliZIHoso!
Downtown roads from Juan N. Álvarez at Cinco de Mayo to La Boquita and from there all of Benito Juárez will be closed this Thursday, May 1st, for the parade for Día de los Trabajadores that begins at 9:00 A.M. this year. The parade should only last a couple of hours, but it'll make getting around difficult during the morning.
It stayed warm and relatively humid last night, a foreboding of things to come. The temperature only got down to 24°C Tuesday night, and more of the same is expected this Wednesday night. The mar de fondo event washed entirely over much of the downtown beach Tuesday night, but the waves calmed down this Wednesday and should remain so until this Friday when another event is expected to affect our coast with waves expected to be from 1.6 to 2.6 meters, not quite as large as the last event. Hopefully, it won't affect the Torneo Anual de Pez Vela or force the closing of the pier at Playa Linda again.
Thursday is the traditional pozole day in Guerrero! I hope you enjoy one of the signature dishes of our state. See my Restaurants page for my recommendations of pozole restaurants.
This Thursday evening the pier will be partially closed for the dinner event for the participants in the fishing tournament, which takes places Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Visiting fishermen are already here enjoying themselves.
Location is everything, and located front and center on El Palmar Beach in Ixtapa with all the amenities of a resort hotel you'll find Tesoro Ixtapa Condos. 1- and 2BR furnished vacation rental condos with use of pool, restaurants and beach services. Al amanecer se notó que el efecto mar de fondo había generado olas que cubrieron toda Playa Principal durante la noche en la bahía de Zihuatanejo.

Desfile Rápido
Instead of lasting an hour or two as usual, today's parade for Día de los Trabajadores ended in little over half an hour, breaking all records. Hardly worth all the effort. There were practically no spectators.
