Rain chances increase over the next several days and into next week. At the same time, a zone conducive to the development of a tropical disturbance is forming in front of the coast of Guerrero. Time to check around your property for things that may be damaged from strong winds or rain, get blown away, or collect water. Make sure drains are clear and unplugged, and that flooding isn't going to occur on your property from lack of drainage. Get ready, 'cause here we go again!
I hope Friday's concert at the Cancha Municipal isn't affected.
The Danzón dancers are just finishing up outside my window. What a lovely way to start the evening. Lots of people showed up to watch, and a few joined in and danced, including my wife, making me have to fake it while smiling and watching her.
Tourism has been extremely slow all week. Hardly anyone at any of the beaches. Mostly locals out'n'about. Restaurants mostly empty. Merchants with barely any business, if any. This is always a rough time of year for us, but of course as we keep multiplying so does the hardship. The best we can do is hunker down and hope we don't have any emergencies that eat up our meager savings.
Daytime temperatures continue to be on the hot side, but the evenings have returned to more tolerable and milder temperatures, thank goodness. With the rains the evenings should be even more pleasant, except if there are major storms with thunder, deluges, and high winds. Keeping fingers crossed.
Thursday is jueves pozolero. Enjoy one of Guerrero's traditional dishes that is usually only served on Thursdays. Don't forget to sip your shot of mezcal slowly and with respect. We don't toss back shots of mezcal or tequila like is customary in other cultures.

Thanks for the update.
We're flying in next Thursday afternoon. Hopefully our flight isn't affected too much.
I saw a Facebook post saying possible cyclones. Last time we were there there was a Tropical Storm. I'm thinking maybe I'm bad luck for Zihuatanejo.
Sorry guys
P.s. see you in six days

I don't think you'll have to worry about a hurricane (they call them cyclones on the other side of the Pacific), but if we're lucky we'll get enough rain to cool things off a bit, replenish our water supplies (local "rivers" [we'd call them "cricks" where I was born] are mostly bone dry at the moment), and maybe start turning our hillsides green again. Right now it's just muggy and hot.

Well a little bit of rain isn't too bad. We've got a trip to Isla Ixtapa booked for Friday 30th. I'm wondering if I should postpone it.

I wouldn't. The storm system is well off our coast and expected to remain far away and continue in a westerly direction. Once this storm system passes it'll suck all the clouds along with it and we'll have clear blue skies until the next system forms up. It should be a perfect beach day on the 30. Your biggest concern will likely be the waves and whether they're large enough for the port captain to close down boat traffic from the pier at Playa Linda.

Thanks Rob.
As long as Taqueria mi Barrio & Jungle Pizza are open we'll survive. And my missus wants to see the new Chedruai.
Yes, that's how sad we are.

Jungle Pizza only on weekends until fall, but still great.

Thank you.
The plan for Saturday is to visit the Pantheon in the afternoon before heading down to Jungle.

The Panteón is the graveyard near Agua de Correa. Just so you aren't surprised if you tell a taxi driver and that's where they take you.
