Tuesday evening was another lovely evening for sleeping weather, but a disappointment for the predicted rain that never fell. Each day the frustration grows with the predicted rains that never show up, but the positive side is that the water in Zihuatanejo's bay remains clear and clean. Good for snorkeling and discovering the marvelous marine life that still thrives in our bay despite human negligence.

The Danzón dancers didn't show up this Wednesday evening in Plaza del Artista, so either they had other plans or else I missed them last week while I was in bed sick and this is their week off. But I heard other people asking about the "viejitos que bailan" to the Policía Turística, so maybe they were supposed to dance. Oh well.

It's currently raining in the sierra. I can see it from my azotea. Keeping fingers crossed we get some of it. But I hope the canal doesn't spill over its walls and flood downtown since its opening to the bay is blocked quite high with sand and pebbles.

Some tourists showed up today, much to the surprise of local merchants. Not sure where they came from. Maybe the new flight from Morelia? This is the best time of year to visit while prices are down and there aren't any crowds. For locals it's when we often take a day or a week off and play tourist ourselves. We also get to see our friends and neighbors more since we're not so busy working.
