I usually start looking at flights for next February about now. Last year we flew Phoenix to ZIH direct with American.... They are an Alaskan partner. Great! Used our Alaska miles. This year that doesn't seem available, so I looked at flying LAX to ZIH.....I figured I could find a way to get to LA somehow. I might be dumb but it seems there's no direct LAX to ZIH flights? Apparently you have to fly to Dallas first? BTW I'm trying to use my Alaska miles.

There are daily flights in season. It’s possible there aren’t award seats available. Prices right now are insane. One way first class SEA/ZIH around $1700, which is nearly double the usual price.

Gold-plated buttocks required for those seats.

1700 bucks?
Better to just take the plane to Mexico City for one third the price and then bus it over to Ztown.
Done it many times.
Anything's better than that kind of ripoff.

It will come down. This is as high as we’ve seen it. Thsts usually pretty close to the round trip first class price.Coach has always been $800 round trip +/-

I fly Alaska quite often and just checked there app and had no problem finding flights using miles next February. Not sure how you are going about your search but I’m happy to assist if needed. Just email me here.

Love u guys. However stop saying direct flights...it's non stop. direct can stop in 10 cities as long as flight number doesn't change . SW is known for it. AS has the milk run in SE AK

You are entirely correct. 'Direct' instead of 'nonstop' has been misused and abused for many years. However language is malleable and everchanging. The more 'direct' is used, and most people are doing just that, the more acceptable it becomes and it eventually becomes the norm.
