Yesterday we watched the AZTECA boat- abandoned for many years in the waters off La Ropa be towed away! Does anyone know what happened to the boat? Thanks Rob for your great message board and all you do for the community!

A couple of days ago we noticed that it was not anchored in it's usual place, but moved a bit. Confirmed it when we paddled by.
A couple of years ago, it was towed over by the pier, a pirate flag on it and people bouncing all over it filming. It was returned to it's usual place after a couple of days. It was discussed on this board.
It's not abandoned, it's regularly pumped out and the owner is known.

Hilarious propaganda! I've no idea why they refer to it as a catamarán, it's a monohull, or anything mítico, it has no local history other than as a mostly abandoned vessel. But it makes a fun read.
