Once again, everyone I spoke with while on my morning stroll mentioned what a beautiful morning it was. It never rained last night in downtown Zihuatanejo, but the temperature was mild, and the sun was peaking through a painted sky. By the late afternoon the clouds rolled back in and it started sprinkling. I couldn't help but notice a woman sitting alone on the beach in the rain close to the water, gazing out at the bay, and I tried to imagine what she was feeling, remembering the many times I'd done something similar during my younger years, sometimes while the song "I Wish It Would Rain" by The Temptations ran through my head while missing someone dear.

Public schools will be closed this Friday along the Costa Grande and throughout much of the state due to the approximation of a storm system close to the coast of Guerrero. It could get a bit breezy, and it looks like we might get a significant amount of rainfall. But the storm is not currently expected to become a hurricane, and its direction continues to be west-northwest, so it might be close to us by this Friday and Saturday before peeling away.

The pier at Playa Linda will be closed tomorrow, and likely throughout the weekend, meaning the restaurants at Isla Ixtapa will also probably not open. Depending on evolving conditions, Zihuatanejo's bay could be closed to small craft, but it seemed fine today.

I hope everyone who wanted to, enjoyed their pozole today. We sure did. I even managed not to overdo the chile for a change.
