Un ZIHelo Cubierto
Today was the longest day of the year for us, with the sun at its northernmost point on the horizon at sunrise and sunset. Now it will slowly begin its apparent journey back towards the southern sky. Summertime is here!
It got downright cool last night. We had to turn the fan down and pull the sheets up over us and snuggle. The rain stopped sometime early this Friday morning, and it was a beautiful albeit cloudy day. There were gusty breezes most of the day, but the wind picked up in the late afternoon and the bay got choppy. I was surprised to see a few fishing pangas heading out, but the Capitanía de Puerto only had the yellow flag flying at the pier. I think he should be flying the red flag and banning small watercraft from operating outside the bay. It was dangerous enough with the choppy water inside the bay.
There's already another tropical disturbance zone off Mexico's southern coast that could give us another potential hurricane within the next week or so. Our hurricane season is starting off much more active than usual, and Erick was the strongest storm I can recall this early in the year. They're gaining strength more quickly than ever off our coast. Worrisome.
Tourists were once again at our beach at the crack of dawn with their suitcases where they changed into beachwear and went swimming in the dirty water. Why the city won't post warning signs at beaches after heavy rains is a mystery. Almost as if they simply don't care about people's health. Hmmm...
The Eco-Tianguis "Sanka" may be held at the Cancha Solidaridad across the street from the footbridge "El Vado" and next to El Paraíso Hotel this Saturday morning if it looks like rain and it's breezy. If you don't see them in front of the Vicente Guerrero school across from the museum, then that's where you'll find them from 8:30 AM until 1:00 PM. Lots of goodies to be found there!
There's an enchanting small boutique hotel with a pool located just a few steps from the beach at Playa La Ropa named Hotel Villas Las Azucenas. They offer a luxurious Penthouse; 3 Master Suites with an ocean view, mini-pool and kitchenette; 8 Suites with kitchenettes; 5 Junior Suites with kitchenettes; and 5 Standard Rooms without kitchenettes. Relaxation guaranteed!

Hotel Azucenas
I stayed at Hotel Azucenas last November after my cataract surgery as there was construction next to me and I was grounded for a few days; my balcony was dusty etc. I had a lovely suite with a jacuzzi on the balcony. A fine few days and a great place to recuperate. The staff were very nice. They are my neighbours as well - just below me a la escultura del delfínes.
