It sprinkled during the night and into Monday morning, and it got a bit breezy, but we didn't get anything like what hit other parts of the coast. It stayed cloudy most of the day, though the sun peeked out during sunrise and sunset. Some high surf started rolling into the bay, and the Capitanía closed the port of Zihuatanejo and Playa Linda to navigation by small vessels, meaning no fishermen or water taxis worked today. Local schoolkids got a day off for nothing. The storm went right by us. We could've used a bit more rain before the upcoming Canícula, but oh well. Here we go again. ¡Sala'o!
It looks like Tuesday and the rest of the week is going to be sunny with possible late afternoon rains, typical for this time of year. Usually we don't see much rain in July. It just gets hot and humid until around mid-August. La Canícula. Let's hope it's not so bad this year.
There was hardly anyone around who looked like a visitor today. A very slow business day for local merchants, the ones who bothered to open. Since Las Gatas was closed to navigation, there was no activity at the pier, though people could still walk there if they liked.
I love this time of year!
