Un Océano Muy PaZIHfico
Some high clouds in the morning diffused the sun for a little while, but once the sun broke through things quickly got quite warm. It wouldn't be so bad if there were some breeze, but there's been none. This is where the breeze comes to die. We're experiencing the full effect of La Canícula. Keeping fingers crossed for some rain this Sunday. There was none today.
The number of visitors continues to increase, but it seems they're predominantly tour bus visitors who mostly go to Isla Ixtapa or Las Gatas. Buses are causing problems again by driving people out to La Ropa, and the municipal authorities appear to be granting $pecial permit$, much to the disappointment of most La Ropa residents and businesses. There's a petition to ask the mayor to please stop allowing what is supposed to not be permitted. If any La Ropa residents would like to sign it, please see Laura at Casa Tucanes.
The ocean remains calm with no signs of any mar de fondo events. And the water remains relatively clear due to the lack of rain. Our summer visitors couldn't have been more pleased with what they found in Zihuatanejo this Saturday. Smiles and laughter were everywhere! And the waterfront restaurants as well as other downtown restaurants were busy this evening. Good to see!
If you're looking for a laid-back affordable waterfront lodging in a stress-free zone, then check out Casa de los Sueños Tropicales located at Playa Manzanillo, a surfers' paradise. A comfortable beachfront vacation home on the point of Manzanillo Beach, popular with surfers, in the Troncones community 30 minutes north of Ixtapa. Perfect for two couples or a family. Pet friendly.
