The cruise ship ms Europa 2 visited us today from 8 in the morning until 7 this evening. While some passengers stayed in Zihuatanejo walking around, enjoying the scenery and shopping, it appears that most boarded buses for prearranged tours. It's my understanding that the cruise ship tour agencies don't paint a welcoming picture of Zihuatanejo and instead describe us as a scary place. Thank goodness not all their passengers buy that crock, but it doesn't help to have lies told about us just to sell tours on buses.

Another cruise ship, Amadeus, is scheduled to arrive at 7AM on the 29th of January.

Still no rain, but no snow either. Rain clouds continue appearing in the sierra and on the horizon, but fewer than in previous days. Temperatures remain absolutely perfect, perhaps a tad warm for some because of the humidity, which feels hotter if you're out walking in the sun at midday, but quite comfortable in the shade and overnight for sleeping with windows open and a fan on low.

I certainly hope U.S. citizens are contacting their elected representatives to protest U.S. military incursions into Mexico. A warning was issued for airlines that was similar to one Venezuela received before they were invaded, and pilots in northern states have reported GPS blackouts during flights. If the criminal regime continues undoing 250 years of goodwill and respect, it won't bode well for U.S. travelers. "Yankee Go Home" signs are already appearing in protests in Europe in countries that have until now been strong U.S. allies, but current circumstances are ending all that. This is all stupid and quite needless, but at least the Epstein Files are no longer making front page news as they were before the kidnapping of Maduro.

All the ugly billboards are coming down thanks to a state law enacted after Huracán Otis. Thank goodness! They've always been an eyesore here, except when my mother had one on the road coming from the airport. ;-)

Recent rains caused water hyacinths to wash out of nearby rivers and lagoons, and they had to be removed from local beaches this morning. A surprising sight to see at this time of year.

Don't forget to visit "Las Iguanas Bazar" in La Ropa next to Casa Tucanes this Sunday from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. where you'll find a fun time, the wonderful works of local artisans and merchants, and lots of sustainable products.

[image]Paradise may have once been lost, but when you arrive at this lodging you'll know you've truly found it. Casa Escondida offers a 2-bedroom home, a 2-bedroom apartment, and two 1-bedroom bungalows all designed in local tropical styles. This incredible property is located on Troncones Beach a short walk from the village. Features a pool, ceiling fans and hammocks on the porches. Rent the entire property or in parts.
