I have to admit to being surprised I wasn't woken up by leaf blowers at 5 this morning like has been usual during the current and previous municipal administrations (actually the same one) whenever a cruise ship arrives. What a relief to get that extra sleep! ¡Gracias!

While we put on a good face and hope for the best, sales from cruise ship passengers has too often been disappointing for us. Today was no different. The Amadea was offloading passengers soon after arriving at 7 this morning. Most went straight to buses that whisked them off to tours. Apparently many went to see the ruins in La Chole. While it's an interesting place to visit, the "reconstructed" pyramid needs to be better explained. It's not a real pyramid, and I don't blame people for being disappointed when they see it up close and realize that. I hope they at least enjoyed a good local meal somewhere. They should've tried our pozole seeing that it was jueves pozolero and we have many excellent pozolerías in the area.

We went from having a high probablity of rain this coming weekend to practically nil, though the probability still remains high for Acapulco and the sierra. We'll be lucky to see it in the sierra or off the coast. I should know better than to get my hopes up at this time of year.

We've got two upcoming events this Sunday. The always-delicious Paella Fest at 6PM at the pier, and the Domingo Cultural with folkloric dancers from Monterrey, Nuevo León at 7PM at the Cancha Municipal.

And of course this coming Wednesday evening at 6PM is the special fundraiser for the Sociedad Protectora de Animales de Zihuatanejo (SPAZ) at the Orient Bay restaurant across the street from the Hotel Irma.

One is a one-bedroom house with a kitchen, and the other has a ground-floor bungalow and an upstairs cabaña that shares a kitchen with the bungalow. All located amid exuberant tropical gardens across the street from Troncones Beach within easy walking distance of the small village with its stores and restaurants.
