Día de DeliZIHas
The coolness returned Sunday night and Monday morning, just enough to feel cozy under a light sheet. But the waves have died down again, and we could barely hear them during the night. As has become more common recently, visitors were at the beach and swimming well before sunrise. And the beaches were busy in both Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo as the long-weekend visitors enjoyed the sun, the sand, and the sea.
We awoke to clear skies and a nice offshore breeze this morning, and though it shifted around a bit, the breeze remained fairly constant all day. It kept our temperatures mild and made for quite a comfortable day of picture-postcard-perfect weather.
There was some confusion today since it was the official day of rest for Día de la Constitución AND it was also Día de la Candelaria when tamales are bought in large quantities per tradition. The official day of rest should've been next Friday, the day following the official Día de la Constitución. Some people weren't sure what was being celebrated today.
I hope everyone enjoyed delicious tamales today!
Visitors leaving to return via Carretera Siglo XXI have been stuck in long lines of traffic all day due to an accident this morning between the toll booths for Feliciano and Las Cañas. This unfortunately seems to be an increasingly common occurrence on this highway. Last I heard only one lane was open and the lines are long. Bummer.
One of the loveliest vacation lodgings at La Ropa and one of my very favorite vacation rentals to promote is Villa Zanzibar, a charming 3-bedroom private villa tucked away in the old original La Ropa community at the southern end of the beach a short easy walk up from the waterfront. Located in one of the most peaceful areas of our community, this is a place to feel relaxed and at home. (click to enlarge photo)
