An acquaintance has a lovely, huge, palapa-covered dining area with an adjoining food preparation area.

One evening they had just laid out the fabric runner, placemats, plates, bowls, flatware, etc. on the dining table.

It turns out that iguanas can find a palapa to be a desirable location. They don’t even have to go somewhere else to poop, they can just drop it from six or eight metres onto whatever is below, including a fully-laid dining table.

From what I heard, the copious amount of fibre in their diets can make for loose stools that can spread like a water balloon dropped from a similar height.

As an aside, a relative visited their son who was working in Africa. There was a population of storks. They said they didn’t know whether the storks delivered babies, but they learned the storks “delivered” something else.

In the evenings they would roost on street lamps. People soon learned to not walk directly under street lamps.
