While the USA and Israel were murdering schoolgirls and Iran's equivalent of the Pope this Saturday morning to distract from their respective leader's crimes, there were numerous athletic events taking place in Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa. In Ixtapa there was a relay swim with teams around Isla Ixtapa. Pretty impressive! In Zihuatanejo there was a running event along the Ciclovía and waterfront, and a separate kayak and paddle board event in the bay that started in front of the museum. There was also a volleyball tournament at the Unidad Deportiva with teams from different parts of Mexico. Wore me out just thinking about all that activity!

Our weather today was once again absolutely picture-postcard-perfect! Clear skies, mild temperatures, a light breeze, and relatively calm seas even with some 1-meter waves hitting the coast (good for the surfers).

The folkloric dancers from around the country were putting on a spectacular show at the Cancha Municipal this evening. There was quite a crowd enjoying the event.

This Sunday evening there will be a rock band and a salsa band playing at the Cancha Municipal.

I was extremely pleased to meet "Casa Juan" John this evening while strolling past the Mercado de Conchas. ¡Mucho gusto!

Whale watching, sport fishing, and tours to see the Monarch butterflies continue being popular activities. Although swinging in a hammock on the beach in the shade of a palm tree is enough activity for some folks.
