The coolness arrived early Saturday night, and by Sunday morning it was like someone had left the AC on high all night long. Brrrr! Fortunately, there wasn't a cloud in the sky, so as soon as the sun broke over the hills surrounding the bay, things warmed up nicely. Small waves made for wonderful sleeping music during the night. Even with the coolness, visitors were at the beach before the sun rose.
Quesadillas de espinaca and pan dulce with my locally grown coffee made for delicious morning fare. What a privilege it is to live in Mexico! Every single day!
I have to say I'm surprised at the amount of dis- and misinformation circulating among U.S. citizens. AI-generated images and fake news have apparently given people in the States the impression that a narco-terror spree is occurring here in Mexico and that we're all hiding scared. The narcos protested for ONE DAY, then it was over. No airports were closed. The narcos don't run the country. We aren't living in fear. The presidenta was never whisked away to a naval vessel. She actually just spent a couple of days in Sinaloa. Folks up there need to find better news sources because apparently all the traditional ones have been bought by MAGAt-supporting billionaires. I have plenty of good reliable news sources listed along with some of the traditional ones on my NEWS page. Take advantage of them.

Still no snow in our forecast, and unfortunately no rain either. We may see rain clouds in the sierra later in the coming week, but they're just a tease. But it's better than seeing smoke, which I imagine we'll be seeing plenty of soon enough with the dry season upon us.
Local beaches were busy today with visitors from Mexico and abroad. The ocean temperature remains tolerable for locals, a tad on the cool side at 27.2°C. There will be some decent morning surf during the coming week at the favorite surf spots.
A good place to escape the problems of the world is Troncones. Tucked away in a quiet corner of Troncones is one of its loveliest vacation lodgings, Regalo del Mar. A uniquely Mexican small, exotic, luxurious tropical-style vacation guest inn on the beach at Playa Troncones with comfortable suites, bungalows, and a pool. Surrounded by exuberant gardens and natural beauty, it's a place for nature lovers, peaceful and ideal for relaxing. Far from anything resembling stress.

BS, we all know it is so much safer in any major city in the United States.
I wish that were true and I hope everyone up there remains safe, but I have to respectfully disagree with you after that little mess your Grifter-in-Chief started. After starting off with a war crime murdering over 160 schoolgirls and then killing their equivalent of a Pope, Iranians will be more motivated than ever to cause as much harm as possible to the USA and Israel, including U.S. cities, especially where there are large crowds.
All of this is happening to try to distract people from the TRUMP-EPSTEIN FILES. It's a good thing the tourist season is almost over here in Mexico, because Gringos are going to be afraid to travel abroad for months to come. If they aren't afraid, they should be. Their government really screwed up this time.
For the history-challenged, this all began back in 1953 with Operation Ajax when the USA and Great Britain overthrew a popular democratically elected leader in Iran to maintain control over Iranian oil and establish the use of the petrodollar.

There is a commonality in these two regimes, in substance if not in degree. (We have yet to see “Gilead” of The Handmaid’s Tale emerge.)
In each instance, there is a theme of oppression of women and girls. We see photos or videos of Iranians protesting the killing of Khamenei. None of my female iranian friends in Canada or Mexico are shedding tears. We don’t see them on the streets in Iran.
Closer to home, whether it be with “no longer prince” Andrew in the UK or the scores (hundreds?) of accomplices in the US of the conveniently dead Jeffrey Epstein we see the diminishment of the value of female persons. And we see the actions to deny women the basic right to control their own bodies.
When it comes to exploitation, it seems to be a common theme, “Women and children first!”

Gangs or Gestapo. The choice for most Canadians is quite easy. It's either support a welcoming country like Mexico with our tourism albeit with narco gangs that are unfortunately part of the picture there. Their ambitions are mostly profit oriented and appear to have no interest in invading us. On the other hand, the unwelcoming U.S. with it's Gestapo like ICE gangs are supported by a government that threatens us constantly. Guess where we will be vacationing.

Guess the sarcasm wasn’t obvious enough. Coming to your place this month and Las Vegas next month. I will be way more cautious at the latter. Doubt there are many in Zihuatanejo that are going to go out and hurt random people just for sport.

No, I got your sarcasm, but for others reading this I just wanted to stress the point. Most U.S. media aren't providing U.S. citizens with the service they need. Like Rachel Maddow keeps stressing, follow the money. The USA has a compromised chief executive. And most of the media is reporting BS instead of the true story.
Mexico is a very safe place to be right now! Especially for U.S. citizens.
