Siguen la Buena MúZIHca y las Ballenas
Tuesday morning was a bit warmer than previous days, and Wednesday morning is expected to be slightly warmer. Rain clouds were visible in the sierra, and the humidity is increasing after the sun sets. The mar de fondo was only about 2.3 meters high along the open ocean, but it seemed like less than half that in Zihuatanejo's bay. Surf continues good at the usual spots, so surfers are having a good time. It's expected to continue but to gradually decrease over the next couple of days.
Whale sightings also continue in the region. The official whale watching season ends March 20. So there's still time to go see them with my friend Ramón Olea on his panga Oleaje.

Downtown Zihuatanejo lost electricity this evening for about 15 minutes. I've seen no reason given by any local media. Poor Cuba!
There are still quite a few excellent events coming up this weekend. Including Gabriela Quintero, from Rodrigo and Gabriela fame, playing at La Mexicana restaurant in Playa Troncones. Don't miss it!

One of the nicer more affordable vacation rentals in La Madera neighborhood is Casa Linda located atop the small hill at La Madera with views of the bay and town. Three apartments that can be rented all together or individually, each beautifully decorated with Mexican handcrafts, and they share a pool and Jazuzzi. One with two en-suite bedrooms and two with one bedroom each as well as a sofa or pull out bed. All with full kitchens, living area, balconies, and shared access to a garden with BBQ facilities as well as the rooftop terrace. (click to enlarge photo)

Visto desde mi azotea, una columna de humo y luces brillantes señalaron el acercamiento al Primer Cuadro del Centro del desfile de Carnaval en Zihuatanejo a 50 minutos después de su inicio.
