Paper today said, " Zihuatanejo's Director of Fisheries, César Pineda , ruled out that it was a red tide . He explained that the phenomenon is related to the presence of schools of fish in the bay, which tend to approach during this season as part of their reproductive cycles. He noted that the concentration of fish, possibly sardines, generates the visual effect of brown patches or "spots" that, from a distance, can be confused with another type of phenomenon."

Too bad he wasn't out in the bay. Most red (should be called chocolate) tide area we have ever seen here. Except for a very short stretch from The Thompson to Paty's, and just at the shoreline, the entire bay is the color of chocolate milk.

Although it's perfectly safe to swim in, we opted to pool swim today. The paddle, however was wonderful!
