Government ought to be redistributing wealth, returning the production of the workers to the workers for the interest of workers. May Days and Labour Days seem to be the days when workers most ought to derive the benefits of redistribution of the wealth that was created by them yet taken from them.

Oh how the US has changed.
Can you imagine the current president, or any recent president proclaiming the following?
"Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed". "Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration".
They would be politically pilloried as being “socialist, communist, fascist, radical left”. Yet those are the words of Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican president.

Lincoln would be a democrat today. You got what you voted for or didn't. In Florida the people that smoke pot for medicinal or other reasions were so convinced that the amendment to legalize pot would pass they sparked up another joint and did not go and vote.

The amendment passed. Desantis and the GOP-dominated state congress simply refused to honor the voters' wishes and didn't implement it. That appears to be the new thing with the GOP nationwide. They just do what they want to remain in power sucking up to billionaires and to hell with We The People. Apparently We The People forgot that they have to power to boycott and hold work stoppages like Europeans do. If I were a college or pro athlete in any red state, I'd be refusing to play and thinking about moving to a state that doesn't want to take away my electoral representation.
