The clouds broke up for the lunar eclipse last Thursday night, then they closed right back in. And that's pretty much the way it's been all day and into the evening. Little glimpses of the sky appeared here and there through the steam, I mean water vapor.

Whoa, what a steamer this Friday morning was! No breeze, but we could see rainshowers passing by right outside the bay. Frustrating! And it stayed that way throughout the day. But the rain never appeared. The weather maps kept us thinking it was coming, then nothing. Very frustrating!

Visitors, fishermen and other early risers got a treat this morning on the Paseo de Pescador between the canal and Playa La Madera when a pair of sea turtles swam past while pairing.

Mango licuado for breakfast with some kind of apple-bread pastry from Pastelería El Buen Gusto sure was a nice way to start off the morning along with some fresh aromatic locally grown coffee.

The waves in the bay never picked up much, not enough to affect swimmers, but the favorite surf spots were a-rockin' and a-rollin' today, and they'll continue doing so all weekend.

A few visitors showed up today, but not many. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Don't miss the Eco-Tianguis "Sanka" that happens every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 1:40 p.m. in the small plaza in front of the Vicente Guerrero school, across the street from the Museo Arqueológico de la Costa Grande in downtown Zihuatanejo by the waterfront where La Boquita canal runs into the bay. If it looks like rain, then they'll set up in the Cancha Solidaridad two blocks to the east just off Avenida La Boquita. Besides wonderful handcrafts, they feature a variety of homegrown produce, fresh foods including pastries, breads and tamales, fresh coffee, juices and mezcal.
