El Paraiso, Playa Blanca

Be aware: a friend and I returned to El Paraiso, Playa Blanca after a yr or so. Things have changed. The day fee is the same but you get charged up front- no problem. We each had 1 small daqueri and one large. There seemed to be no alcohol in 1st drink and when we ordered 2nd drink it was large but only 2/3 full and still not alcohol. When we got the bill the drinks for 4 virgin daqueri’s was $1325 pesos. I know prices go up and it is expected but unlike last time when we spent the day, had “good drinks” and 4 of them( large) for the price we paid yesterday, I am not sure I want to go back. Been going there for many years and I hate to walk away but I do not like getting taken advantage of either.
On another note, the storms have removed about 400-500’ of sand from beach and high tide came up to the 1st palm trees closest to the water. Hurricane Trudy is expected to bring rain and 10’ waves on Sunday, 13’ on Minday. They may be in trouble as well as many of the beachfront restaurants out there.

Inescusable and unjustifiable prices! There's a reason they aren't listed here on my website. Really sorry to hear you were taken advantage of. Shame on them, and thank you for posting your warning here.

Yepper, the beach there is being changed drastically, and those who built too close to the water are losing their constructions, thanks to corrupt and inept politicians and bureaucrats who issued permits. I dislike seeing people protect their property with rocks that impede the free transit of the beach. Beaches here are supposed to be free to transit, and you shouldn't have to feel like you're invading someone's private property just trying to walk down the beach. Buying beachfront is a gamble, and the burden shouldn't be on the public.
