It's been interesting watching the development of this mural depicting the waterfront area of old Zihuatanejo by local artist Miguel Ángel Álvarez Lozano aka "El Gitano". I love it!

It is right in front of Rob and Lupita's place, on the way to the beach by La Arcadia.

This is wonderful, beautiful art. Zihuatanejo deserves no less. Other Mexican towns install bronze statues. Zihua has a few of these. But I don't recall many fresco like paintings such as this. Perhaps if more building paintings of this quality were done around town Zihua would achieve a unique art destination distinction among tourist towns. I'm talking about public art now, not Zihua's uniqueness in other ways. No other town can compete there.
