Mystified...

So.. on Playa Madera today we ran into this ritualistic service. Chanting and bowing to the North, South, East and West and an alter of flowers and food in the center of the circle. Anyone know what was going on? It seemed faintly reminiscent of Hawaiian ceremonies and I wondered if they were giving someone a final sendoff.

Looks like they're all waving goodbye to a cruise ship.

Cindy, I think they may have been praying for the rain to come down in Oregon. You're lucky you're there. It's gone from temps in the teens (Fahrenheit for you Canadians and other evolved citizens) to 45 and dumping rain. We may all float down that way before it's over. Have a great trip!

I agree with Bob, the rain is amazing. It's not your typical Oregon rain, it's more monsoon-like, and I for one am agin it.
