Santander or Banamex
Had the same question so last week I withdrew 6000 pesos from both of these banks with my Credit Union ATM card. Both withdrawals within 15 minutes of each other. Final final after all ATM fees was 47 US cents difference ... Banamex won. I like Santander because their ATM tells you what size money it will dispense: 50, 100, 200, 500. If it says it has 50's I typically get quite a bunch of them.
I usually use the ATM at the Scotiabank, taking 9000 pesos each withdrawal, which comes as 16 or 17 500 peso bills, the rest in 200's and 100's. Then I have to stand in the lineup to change the 500's into more easily circulated smaller bills. The Scotiabank ATM at La Comer doles out 9000 pesos in a thick wad of all 200 and 100 peso bills. Can't figure out why these ATM's differ.
