LaZy day- Day three trip report
The fellas went fishing with Ed this morning so I thought this would be a great time to post our yesterday......
Woke early, still no coffee but we fixed that at Comercial in the afternoon. I had those clothes to give Arturo so we sauntered down to Elvira's. He seemed grateful and thanked us many times. We decided to eat there and use their chairs again. One of these days I'll have to get to Las Gatas, maybe mañana. Breakfast was delicious as usual. Cafe, huevos rancheros x 2, huevos divorciados, my friend had French toast.
Lounged on the beach, swam , strolled, drank, ate nachos and more guacamole. I cannot seem to get my fill of guacamole. Beer, piña coladas. Amazing.
The day just breezed by. Michael had to pry me away from the beach.....seems to be the theme. Those eels Talley Ho was talking about, we saw and felt those. Ack! First time I jumped on Michael's back. I cannot imagine what a scene I looked like from the beach. The more I drank, the less they scared me.......a guy at the Catalina got stung twice by a ray.
Sun, sand, it really doesn't get any better.
I saw a gentleman selling what appeared to be either taffy or cheese to many of the locals around 4 pm. I called him over and he was selling string cheese, the most amazing string cheese ever. I knew if the servers were buying it it had to be good. If you get the chance, buy this cheese. I bought a big bag. I'm guessing its what cheese is supposed to taste like.
Why are there no female servers? Cultural I'm guessing. No judgment, just an observation.
Went to condo, grabbed beer in plastic cups, and went to enjoy the pool. The view of the bay from the pool is perfect. Chilled for a while. Everyone was getting hungry plus we needed pesos and beer for fishing so we headed in to town.
Went to Comercial, restocked, found coffee and creamer but was looking for flavored creamer like carter asked about. I didn't even think to check shelf stable. Found suitable creamer pods. Perfect. It's all good.
Dropped groceries back at condo and decided on La Perla. There was a wedding going on so it was fun to watch but hearing Baby Got Back with my feet in the sand was odd. Not bad, just odd. I was happy when the local music men came to sing to us. I just love that. I will admit we did get up and danced at our table to the wedding music. Such a lovely venue to be married in.
Okay, I know I am going out on a limb here and have my flame retardant undies on but I did not like Le Perla. I am not a picky food person at all. I'll eat anything from 5 star to Kraft Mac and Cheese and everything in between. Top Ramen, CraftSteak, really I am not picky.
The drinks were weak, the breaded shrimp taste like fast food, and the fish tacos, blah. The guacamole was good. The service was great, and the location was gorgeous but we didn't love the food. Live and learn and I'm glad there is something for everyone but La Perla isn't for us. Maybe it was an off night or maybe we didn't order the right thing.
Flame away now. I'm going to the beach. Adios.
