Adelita Street
Last night was the first time we had walked up Adelita Street from the bay to Villa Mercedes in over a year. It was so good to see all of the people walking both ways and all the restaurants open. It looks like the new thing now is sitting up the grills along the side walk. We had had pizza early in the evening and walked over to the harbor and came back up Adelita. After all they went through during the repairing of the streets it appears Adelita has come back to life. Our favorite place the owner/chef had his red chef's uniform. When he greeted us, we told him about Kathie wanting pizza and he pointed to a table on the sidewalk across the street and told we should just have something to drink. We sat there for a period of time watching the people greet him or he them- he always had a smile on his face.
We told him we would be back Sunday evening and he told us Sunday is for his family and would be closed- I really respect him for taking Sunday off during the busy season- told him we would see him Monday morning for breakfast before we leave for the airport.

I lived on Adelita for eight years and if it were possible, I would move back. I got to know everyone along Adelita. I watched as it changed over those years. Watching the kids grow up, going to the young girls 15th birthday festival and watching the boys become men. I became a part of everyone's family and them a part of mine. They are the reason I return to Zihuatanejo. Viva Calle Adelita
