My last week-end in Zihua is over and what a great time it was! Ended up at the zocalo in the evening to watch the scenery and see what was going to be the event put up this time. It was a gymnastics demonstration and some of these kids were pretty impressive. Of course all was better since I was eating some great food from the food carts and had whatever was on my list I didn't manage to eat last week. The highlit was the tasty chicken tamales with red sauce. As I was strolling around I heard my name and it was one of my friend and she reminded of the concert that was going on at Coconuts and off we went.

The singer playing her guitar is French-Swiss and was singing a lot of Edith Piaf classics which is unusual for someone her age and here. It was a great performance and a good crowd was there. Ended up ordering some food and drinks and had a great time. Bumped into several folks I know and made some new friends there as well.

Off to drop laundry at the laundromat now and then it's time for a brunch and some shopping after. Nice to be able to drop my laundry and pick it up in the evening for about $4, washed and fold. All this under a beautiful sky and nice and warm!

Which laundromat do you use, and where is it? We'll be staying on LaRopa, it would be nice to get some laundry done mid-way during our trip.

I have no idea if there is one in your area but there are 2 close to La Madera. I use the Kyoto one that is just next to the beer vendor when you cross the canal. There is another if you turn left from Kyoto corner going toward centro and it's about 200m from the the roundabout. They do wash and fold and pricing is about the same and based on weight and half the price of what it would cost me to get this done at home. I like to get it done a couple days before returning home so all I have to wash when I arrive is a couple items and underwear.

The one at the Kyoto corner is the closest for La Ropa...and it is a good one.

We were also at the zocalo on Sunday and emjoyed the young gymnists. Their friends and families were so proud! I love Edith Piaf! Wish I had known about the music at coconuts. We walked by but didn't go in.

I so rarely visit those bars in Zihua as it's usually all tourists and not my thing but was invited by friends and the place does look really nice and it was specal for me being French and the artist doing these classics. It was a really nice evening!

Thanks CD. You truly are a beauty. Loved your trip reports. Wish I had have your energy. Sitting in cold Sask thinking about Z drinking a thick anejo rum that only cost me about $35 for 750 ml. It's dark, 28 below...35 below with the wind and that's warmer than what it has been....good news is that it is only 31 days, 7 hrs 57 minutes and 15 seconds until our trip.

You're welcome and thanks for the kind words. I'm glad to share my trips as this place is really special and my hope is that some of the folks reading my reports and other comments that are sitting on the fence about coming here decide to give it a try after reading how wonderful Zihua is.
