This video is actually a tribute to the founder of the Hotel Villa del Sol, Helmut Liens, but it has some great shots of many of Zihuatanejo beloved and well-known residents, visitors and transplants (including my mother), and it reminds us of Zihuatanejo's best days.

Rob, that was very moving. There was one picture about 2/3 of the way through that really looked like you. Was it? Is your mother in it? I couldn't "find" her.
Thanks again for the memories. I didn't make it there for the first time until 10 years after this started.

No, not me. My mother is in a shot of Helmut sitting with a cigarette in his hand and her beside him in another chair with a cigarette in hers.

Very touching video. It captures all the beauty of those years. Also, the video reminds me of my visiting Barra de Navidad, Jalisco in 1970 and '71 for three months each year during my college days. Thanks for posting.

No...Villa del Sol was Tides then became Viceroy.
