Dr. Hugh Alarcón :: Zihuatanejo dermatologist
We just returned from a very helpful visit with Dr. Hugh Alarcón regarding my husband's recurring skin condition, which has recently flared up again. Dr. Alarcón explained the name of the condition and identified a list of the causes. He then prescribed four medications for the treatment and prevention of the condition. He also provided a list of causes of the condition, which his Canadian dermatologist has never mentioned in over five years of treatment. His office is located near Sam's Club, above the nearby FarmaPronto on Paseo de Zihuatanejo (his office entrance is just around the corner a few feet up the side street, Calle Cedric. The consultation fee was 500 pesos--a bargain in our opinion for the value received.

Great info. This was one of the ones I knew about, but have not seen. Thanks for the report.

I went to him a few weeks ago. I didn't get the diagnosis I was hoping for. He was very professional and quite comforting. Nice man.

He claims he doesn't speak English, and I've never tried speaking English with him or any other local doctor, but since he likes to listen to The Beatles I suspect he speaks more than a little English.

hahaha...so maybe anyone with minimal Spanish skills should just sing to him.

Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better

Perhaps a better one
Hey Jude, you've got a rash.
If scratch it, it won't get better.
Remember to get steroids on to your skin,
Then you'll begin to make it better
Better, Better, Better, Better, Better, Better.
Hey Jude, if you still itch
After you've used those dandy steroids,
Remember to just whip out your cell phone
Call Dr. Hugh, He'll make it better
Better, Better, Better, Better, Better, Better.

He speaks English a little better than I speak Spanish. No problem communicating.
