just go out and taste some. i never liked oho del vibora personally. just taste some and see what you like. if it tastes like the agave (maguey) was cooked with a burning tire, well thats not good mescal.

mezcal should always be joven and always at least 50% abv - at least according to the purists. they should be able to tell you the type of agave that was used and where it came from.

don't be scared of small batch / homemade stuff - sometimes thats the best. don't buy anything with a label in a plastic bottle. although, some great homemade mezcal comes down from the mountains in old plastic bottles.

always taste before you buy.
