Fonatur = THIEVES

In case you all weren't aware, 42 years ago Fonatur expropriated 480 hectares of land in what is now Ixtapa that belonged to Zihuatanejo's ejidatarios (communal farmers) but without paying them or compensating them one single peso. They have managed to tie up the legal proceedings in courts for 42 years without any progress (can you say CORRUPTION?), and many of the ejidatarios of course have died since then without ever being paid for their lands they lost. Their heirs and the surviving ejidatarios have now had enough and are determined to force the issue. Currently they are carrying out a campaign of peaceful public demonstrations in Ixtapa on the lands that were stolen from them, alerting our tourists and visitors to the situation. So if you see a group of demonstrators in Ixtapa please don't be alarmed. They are my friends and neighbors and even my family. They are good and decent people clamoring out against yet another injustice committed against them by an indifferent Federal Government, and they have been left to fend for themselves by indifferent State and Local Governments who sing and dance and promise the world during election campaigns but who only enrich themselves once in office.

This is a photo of some of them from last week.

Geez, maybe they'll give them a chunk of land in the middle of nowhere in exchange where they can build a casino. Be a shame if some of those fat cats had to give their nice properties back to the families that really own them. It happened in the Baha so why not here.

Den of thieves seeking folks who have money to "develop" property.

The list is formidable...

Loreto Baja California Sur

La Escalera Nautica

This shows the power of the PRIIstas never really faded much under PAN gobernacion. Ernesto Zedillo a PRI weakened the presidential power inherent in the position. At first I applauded the moves. Now I see why he did it.

I am voting PAN the next sexenio.
