It's not just on La Ropa. It's got our entire coast socked in and the rain just keeps coming down harder and harder. Not a good sign.

Caught me by surprise. One hour ago hot as hell and now really loud and wet!

The wind has died down and the thunder is becoming more distant. Not so much lightening any more either. Still raining, but slowing down. That was fast & furious.

Just before the canal began to overflow and flood downtown... the rain let up to a light drizzle.

WHEW!

The wind has died down and the thunder is becoming more distant. Not so much lightening any more either. Still raining, but slowing down. That was fast & furious.

THAT was a typical tropical thunderstorm.

It seems that we left just in time! Currently overdosing on art in LA, and tomorrow we leave for our new digs in Montana. Back to Zihua in January.

Aw, I'm really sorry I missed seeing you and Melinda before you left! Thank you SO much for the treats!

Rained as hard as I have ever seen it rain here in La Madera. And lightning! I swear some of those strikes were right inside the house! Glad it passed quickly.

Sounds like fun. Can one ever overdose on art?

Here's a photo of the storm as it moved across the bay. This was taken by my friends at El Cafecito, the wonderful coffee shop at Casa Marina next to the basketball court.

Great photo. Kudos to Cafecita. And kudos to the boy embracing nature as it is about to hit him full on.. But like any force of nature, I hope it has passed with only drama.

I believe the young man in the photo is signalling one of the returning fishing boats where to beach itself.

Unfortunately the tropical disturbance just south of Acapulco looks like it is heading directly for the Pearl of the Pacific, which means it will surely affect us too with rains and wind. Right now I'm worried for the tens of thousands of folks in the state who live in neighborhoods and communities that still haven't recovered or been rebuilt from the destruction last year caused by Hurricane Manuel.
