Driving to Zih

We have driven that route many, many times. Our favourite places to stop are Saltillo, Matahuala, San Luis Potosi, a slight detour to Guanajuato with visits to nearby Dolores Hidalgo, Leon, and San Miguel de Allende, as well as Queretero, then on to Morelia & Patzcuaro with visits to nearby Quiroga & Tzintzuntzan, then Uruapan with a visit to the National Park there. You can't go wrong visiting any or all of these great places. Some years we took 2-3 weeks for this journey and stopped at all of them, and some years we only stopped to sleep, in which case we could do it in 2 days! Whatever you decide, have a great trip and enjoy some of the best of Mexico!
