Hello....Is this the la Ropa road maintenance department?
Y yes it is. How may I help you sir?
Well there is a very damaged 'personhole' cover in the middle of the street and it's been there for two weeks now and I think it's dangerous.
Well sir we have developed a very hi-tech barricade for just situations like this. We will send out a crew immediately sir and have it installed in no time. Thank you for calling.
Bye now

Ring.....ring...... "Hello....
Just took a picture of this today. Unbelievable.
Ring.....ring...... "Hello....
Is that the same one that was there last year? Looks like it!
Ring.....ring...... "Hello....
Where exactly is is located on La Ropa?
Nobody's home
Unfortunately this is typical of the neglect Zihuatanejo has suffered ever since the current administration took office, much to the surprise, chagrin and lament of the folks who supported Eric Fernández for the job. Most of the current city administration appears completely inept and corrupt. Very few department heads are seen as even making an effort to do their jobs. Thankfully Lizette Tapia of Ecology has been one of the department heads doing her best albeit in an impossible situation, and she has made laudable progress in bringing the noise situation under control, even though the city's response to the downtown residents' complaint about the bar problem was to "guarantee" they would close "on time" at 4 in the morning (a "rule" some bars still ignore with impunity), which only underscored the fact that our complaints were completely ignored in favor of the bars because they represent such a juicy source of income for some of the inept and corrupt city officials.
We have one more year to endure of the worst city administration Zihuatanejo has ever known, and actually we are all expecting the mayor to take a leave of absence within a month or two in order to run for Federal Deputy (like a U.S. House Representative) in our bicameral Congreso.
Roads everywhere in Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa are showing complete neglect just like our pier and the walkway between La Madera and the downtown beach. Even in Ixtapa potholes are being filled with dirt instead of asphalt. Absolutely unbelievable! We've never seen anything like this current administration here. Ever!
I question why he wanted to be mayor in the first place since he apparently had no intention of administering the city in benefit of the residents or our visitors. Quite the contrary, he appears to be intentionally trying to neglect Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa into ruin.
But we've got the Parque Lineal! Another monument to corruption!

It's on the road to La Ropa, pretty much on the other side of the road at the entrance to Tentaciones.
