Xmas in La Madera...it's only just begun!

Rob, I hope you can use this board and your considerable powers of influence to avert the annual eco-tragedy left when the piñata/flower salespeople along La Boquita leave in early January. It's only just begun but as usual, I see no toilet facilities, nor extra garbage receptacles. The canal, by default becomes their dumping ground and the stalls, where the poorest of the poor live function as their kitchen, bedroom, toilet and warehouse/production area for the next few weeks.
Don't get me wrong, I love the next few weeks watching their artistry and seeing the displays grow more grand and beautiful by the day...but honestly,why does the town not plan for this? What can we do about it??? portapotty's and a few more basureros wouldn't be too much to ask for would it?

Yes, they need something there to help keep it clean. Two years ago, after leaving there were over 20 dipers in the canal. Not good, the canal gose to the bay where we swim. Just keep it clean. Last year I did see this repeated .
