Beach walkway

Your Mexican "friend" is being generous.

This government is in election mode, making promises they have no intention of keeping because a good number of them, including the mayor, will be resigning in January so that they can campaign for other elected positions. So much money has simply disappeared with zero accountability that I frankly don't believe any promises to repair anything. The pier, the roads, the tejabanes, the walkways, the street lights, the wastewater treatment plant, the road to La Ropa, the road to Las Salinas, the infrastructure, the list goes on and on of unfinished projects needing attention. The state or federal government is going to have to step in to do the work our city government is apparently incapable or simply unwilling to do.

In case you've forgotten, the so-called teachers of the CETEG union have apparently all too easily been able to shut down our local government by simply putting a padlock on the entrance to the Palacio Municipal. I've been by there twice this week and there are no protestors, just a chain with a lock. The city government could easily go back to work if they wanted to, but they most obviously don't want to go to their offices to continue simulating the work they haven't actually been doing for the past 2 years.

So if any work is to get done on the waterfront walkway before a new municipal administration takes office late next year it will have to be by someone other than our city government.
